Sweet Sixteen

My Sixteenth birthday was a good memory.

I started the day with an early wake up. I had choir rehearsal before school even started. I was NOT happy about that. I wanted more rest! As i walked outside to get in the car i noticed that two posters of "happy sixteenth birthday!" was on my garage and in the yard. Then, we went to get some donuts. This made me ten minutes late to practice, but hey, its my birthday! i want donuts! My teacher got mad, but i didn't care.
Around lunch time my mom took me out to eat. We ate at Fridays. It was yummy! We then went to the mall and got "drivers ed in a box". I will soon be posting a blog of that. Then i returned to school and went to math. I didn't tell many people it was my birthday. But in math i told my friend how happy i was that i was finally sixteen. The class clown of our class heard and in the middle of our teachers lesson starts singing happy birthday. The class joins in and I'm sinking in my seat blushing.

After school i went home, because i had birthday plans. ( Because i didn't cancel my b-day plans and go to the second debate meeting of the week, so i got in trouble by my debate teacher. Apparently she didn't care what day it was.) It was raining all day. My family and I went to Texas Roadhouse that night. I LOVE that place. We brought my neighbor and best friend Michael. My dad told our waiter that it was my birthday, and my sister joked that i was turning 21. Ha, ya right. We thought nothing of it and had a great dinner with lots of laughs.

Then, the whole staff of Texas Roadhouse came clapping down the aisle with a sattle on a Roley stand. The made me get on and wave a napkin in the air as they sung happy birthday. Then they announced to the restaurant "hey everybody! this is Candice and shes 21 today!" We all started cracking up.

When we went home we ate an ice cream birthday cake.

A couple days after my birthday i went to a traditional birthday shopping spree with my Grandma, Memaw. I was soo much fun! We pigged out at El Fenix and then went to the mall where i bought two pink shirts, a white Lacy spaghetti strap, and a blue/green shirt with matching earrings. Before we left she gave me a cute goldish purse with Victoria secret "pink" perfume and lotion. I'm now addicted to that stuff and wear it everyday. We has such a good time and engaged in deep memorable conversation that i will remember for the rest of my life! I love you Memaw!

What a great sweet sixteen.

A Girls trip to Galveston!

This last weekend we had ourselves a GIRLS ONLY trip to Galveston. This was the first time my mom, sister, and myself had ever attempted such a trip alone. We have with our aunt before, but never just us three. I was assigned the job of "getting us there", by being familiar with the map and keeping us on track. I did a pretty good job. I learned my way around quickly, and gave my mom directions around the place everywhere we went. Our yahoo map was inaccurate, and led us to the other side of the island. But don't worry, we found our hotel! We stayed at Moody Gardens. It was beautiful!

We had so much fun in those short three days. We really bonded. We were independent from men! After we already booked our hotel room, we found out that it was supposed to be raining all weekend there. There was a bit of clouds in the morning, but for the most part- totally SUNNY! -with a few passing clouds. I got a tan! We were very fortunate-i mean, whats a beach with no sun?
We found ourselves laughing most of the trip. We ate sonic everyday. mmm i love their hot dogs and ocean water! We spent our only FULL day there at the pool and going to the beach. The water was warm. That night i went to Joe's Crab Shack, where they made me run around the restaurant on a broom stick chasing a man yelling "pow pow!" with a gun gesture on my hand for my birthday. Talk about embarrassing!

When we went to the gift surf shop, i bought a necklace and a baby shark in a jar. It had preservatives in the water, so it doesn't decompose. Its pretty cool, Ive always wanted a Shark! =P

We spent our drive in our big red truck rolling down the windows with the wind in our hair singing to the radio blasting. Now when we hear those songs, i remember those amazing times in Galveston with the girls.
